Getting there
There are various ways to get to Caramoan. From Manila, it is most convenient if you take the plane but Caramoan is also accessible by land - either via public transport (bus from Manila) or you can bring your own vehicle. Below are your options:
Take the Plane
Approx. total travel time from Manila : 5 - 6 hours
Taking the plane is the most convenient way to get to Caramoan. Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and PAL Express fly regulary from Manila to Naga City. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes. From the Naga City Airport, it will take you approximately 3-4 hours to Caramoan : 1-1.5 hours from the airport to Sabang Port, and another 2-2.5 hours by boat from Sabang to Guijalo Port in Caramoan.
INSIDER TIP: We'd recommend that you to take the earliest flight to Naga. If you catch the first or second boat trip from Sabang to Guijalo, you'd be in Caramoan mid-morning. Going back to Manila, take the latest flight in the afternoon. The last boat trip from Guijalo to Sabang Port is at 1pm but if you leave earlier, you'll most likely have time to go around Naga City still.
Take the Bus
Approx. total travel time from Manila : 14 - 15 hours
You must ride a Bicol-bound bus line to get to Caramoan. There are quite a number of them but the known ones are Philtranco, Bicol Isarog, Penafrancia Tours, RSL, and Raymond. Whichever bus line you choose, book a ticket going to Naga City. Travel time is approximately 8-10 hours. Raymond Bus Line have buses that go directly to Caramoan (these are non-A/C buses but if you're up for it, it's still an option) These buses ride the ferry (RORO) from Sangay Port to Guijalo Port - travel time is approximately 2-2.5 hours.
INSIDER TIP: We'd recommend that you take the evening bus trip. Buses leave between 6-9pm schedules but it's best to take the earliest possible evening trip. By the time you wake up in the morning, you'd be in Naga City. Bicol Isarog and Penafrancia Tours have sleeper and lazy boy buses so they're pretty much comfortable. Most of these buses have restrooms and in-bus wifi too.
Drive a private vehicle
Approx. total travel time from Manila : 12 - 13 hours
Riding a private vehicle going to Caramoan gives you some flexibility in which route to take. You can either drive from Manila to Sabang Port in Camarines Sur (approx. 10 hours), or bring your vehicle all the way to Caramoan by taking the RORO (ferry) via Sagnay Port (1 hour closer to Manila compared to Sabang Port).
